This is a one day, 150-mile bicycle ride through the highways of North Idaho and Montana that is established as a benefit fundraiser to support early literacy in north Idaho. The route is spectacular, the volunteer support is first-class and it finishes with fine food and entertainment! Ready! for Kindergarten: The Ready! for Kindergarten program is an early childhood literacy program for parents. Babies are born learning, and this program provides parents with tools and skills to guide that learning and aim for success in school from the start. Research proves that children who start behind typically stay behind throughout their school years. In its second year, Ready! is already making a difference!

Career Guidance Counselor: Every graduating senior leaves high school with a plan. Students learn what they are good at, how it translates into a career and how to achieve their potential. The career guidance counselor at SHS ensures that a plan is in place, whether it be college, technical school, the military or other post-secondary training.

The Reading Program: The RPMS Reading Program is a four-year comprehensive staff development project designed to significantly improve reading instruction and student achievement at all grade levels in the Lake Pend Oreille School District. This program is a partnership between the Alliance, the LPOSD and the Consortium on Reading Excellence (CORE), a nationally recognized leader in assisting school districts to improve reading and literacy instruction and student achievement.
